Who makes Pomia, and how we work
Two people build Pomia and write this site. Here is what that means for the facts you read on it.
Pomia is a couple app for iPhone, made by two people who use it every day. We write every page of this site ourselves, we check what we say about other apps against their own listings and policies, we date each check, and we say plainly that we make one of the apps we compare.
Who we are
Pomia is made by two people who use it every day. We build the app, answer the support emails and write every page of this site. We do not put our names forward for now, but a real person answers at contact@pomia.app.
How we write our comparisons
Every fact about another app comes from that app’s own App Store listing, pricing page or privacy policy, read on the date written at the top of the page. We link to those sources at the bottom of each comparison. Prices and ratings move, so we check again every three months and change the date when we do.
We make one of the apps we compare
We say so on every comparison, and we keep it in mind as we write. No app pays to appear, to be ranked or to be left out, and we use no affiliate links. Where another app does something better than Pomia, we write it.
How we measured the deck
The figures on our home page come from a simulation, and we say so: 120 invented couples, each with their own tastes, swiped through a month of cards. Our deck was compared with cards drawn at random and with an oracle that knew their tastes in advance. It measures the method; it is not a promise about your evenings.
What we will never do
- Publish fake reviews, ratings or testimonials.
- Show a figure without saying where it comes from.
- Put advertising in the app, or sell your data.
- Track you on this site: it sets no cookies, and counts visits without recognising anyone.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, a price that has changed or a feature we got wrong, write to contact@pomia.app. We fix it, and we update the date on the page.
