Pomia is a couple app for iPhone and Android. It deals you real places and events around you like a deck of cards and picks the ones that suit the two of you; keep one and it gets a day and a time when you are both free; live it and it becomes a polaroid pinned on your map. Around that: one question a day, a shared calendar, goals, time capsules and a small pixel garden. It works entirely on your own, and it is free to start.
What it does
- The deck
- Real places and events around you (restaurants, exhibitions, walks, concerts, flea markets), dealt one card at a time. Swipe right to keep, left to pass, up to give it a date. The deck learns what the two of you like, and it is the part no other couple app has.
- Plans
- Everything you keep lands in one list, with a tag, a place and a moment: you each say when you are free, and every plan gets a day and a two-hour slot when you both are, moved forward by itself if you did not get to it. Paste a TikTok, Instagram or YouTube link and the outing fills itself in, geocoded and planned.
- Your phone calendar
- If you allow it, every planned outing and every date goes into the calendar you already use, iCloud, Google or Outlook, and follows the plan when it moves. Pomia reads nothing else there.
- Memories
- An evening you lived becomes a polaroid pinned where it happened, with a photo, a rating out of five hearts and a word from each of you. When the outing ends, Pomia asks for the photo and the word. Your map slowly fills up with the two of you.
- Relive
- Once you have three memories with a photo, the app deals you a daily deck of about twelve of your own, weighted towards the oldest and the best rated, reshuffled at midnight.
- One question a day
- One of you asks, the other guesses, and a flame counts the days you both kept it up. Next to it, a sentence for your partner and a mood in five axes. On your own, the question becomes a would-you-rather.
- What shall we do?
- One plan, not thirty-two: the map names the one closest to both of you at once, said in minutes rather than kilometres, and a near deadline comes first.

Questions people ask
Is Pomia free?
Yes, to start, and with no advertising anywhere. The free tier gives three discoveries a day and limits on photos, plans, dates and capsules. A share, paid per person, lifts your own limits; two shares in the couple lift the shared ones. Stopping a subscription never deletes anything: it only stops the counters going up.
Do both of us have to pay?
No. One share lifts the limits of whoever paid, and two shares lift the couple’s limits for both of you, so one of you can cover the other. A share follows the person and not the couple, which means it survives a parting.
Does the app work on my own?
Entirely. The deck, the plans, the memories, the map, the calendar, the goals and the garden all work with nobody else in them, and the question of the day becomes a would-you-rather. Everything you wrote alone follows you the day your partner joins, and stays yours.
Does it work for long-distance couples?
Yes, for most of it. The map shows both of you wherever you are, the question of the day, the daily sentence and the mood need no shared room, and a time capsule is made for waiting. Only the deck assumes you are going out in the same town, and it still works for each of you separately.
Is there a couple app that finds real places to go?
That is the one thing Pomia was built for. The deck reads real venues and dated events around you (from Google Places, OpenStreetMap, OpenAgenda and Ticketmaster) and ranks them against what the two of you have liked before. Of the eleven couple apps we compared, none of the others does it.
Does it pick the day and the time too?
Yes. Each of you says when you are usually free, on weekdays and at weekends, and every plan gets a day and a two-hour slot when you both are, spread out so that two never fall on the same evening. You can take the date off, pick another moment, or set the hour by hand, and a plan you did not get to is moved forward by itself. If you allow it, the slot goes into your phone calendar as well.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in Frankfurt, in the European Union. There is no advertising and no data broker in the app, and no tracker without your consent. Your position is only shared if you switch it on, and only with your partner. Deleting your account is one gesture inside the app, and it is immediate and final.
Is Pomia on Android?
Yes. Pomia is on the App Store for iPhone since 30 September 2026, and on Google Play for Android since 24 October 2026. The app and this site are both in six languages, down to the widgets and the notifications.
How is it different from Paired or Between?
Those two are built around talking: a question a day, a chat, a shared album. Pomia is built around doing: it picks a real outing near you, plans it when you are both free, and keeps it as a memory once you have lived it. It also has the daily question, but that is the side dish rather than the meal.
