Need a hand?
Answers to the questions we get most. If yours is not here, write to us. We really do answer.
Everything, answered plainly
PairingHow do we pair up?
On the Home screen, the gold card “Invite your other half” opens the pairing screen: create the code, share it by message, and your other half enters it on their phone. It lasts thirty minutes. Everything each of you had becomes private, and the shared story starts brand new. That is on purpose: what you wrote before you met is yours, not theirs.
The deckHow does Discover work?
Discover deals you real places and events around you, like a deck of cards. Swipe right to like, left to pass, up to add it to your plans with a date. The deck remembers what you like and never shows a passed card again. Three cards a day are free; a share gives you ten. If you are somewhere else, tap the pin at the top to search around another town.
PlanningWhy does my plan already have a day and a time?
Because Pomia plans for you. Each of you says when you are usually free, on weekdays and at weekends, under “Availability” in the menu at the top right of Home, and every plan gets a day and a two-hour slot when you both are, spread out so that two never fall on the same evening. Tap the moment to take the date off, or “Reschedule” on a plan to pick another one, a precise day, or an hour by hand. A plan you did not get to is moved forward by itself, from the next day on.
Phone calendarDoes Pomia write to my phone calendar?
If you allow it. Once a plan has its moment, Pomia asks once, then adds every planned outing, two hours with its name and its place, and every date of yours to the calendar you already use, iCloud, Google or Outlook. It moves them when the plan moves and removes them if you drop it. It reads nothing else there, and nothing about your calendar leaves your phone. The switch is in Settings, under “Phone calendar”.
On your ownDoes the app work on my own?
Yes, entirely. The deck, memories, plans, goals, the question of the day: all of it works. You write to yourself while you wait, and the day you pair up, what you wrote stays yours, kept private until you decide to open it.
AccountI did not get the verification code
Check your spam folder first, then tap “Send the code again”. You have to wait a minute between two sends. Note that disposable addresses are refused: your account is kept by that address, so it has to be a lasting one.
NotificationsNotifications do not ring
Check the switch in the app Settings, then your phone notification settings. You also choose what to be told about: the flame, dates, plans, capsules, goals. An unchecked family never rings again. Pomia rings at three moments at most: in the morning for what falls that day, in the evening for the flame, and when an outing ends, to ask for the photo. Silence is often good news: everything is done.
AccountChanging my name or my email
Settings, then “Edit my profile”. Your first name changes in one gesture, and the change follows everywhere, down to the name your other half sees. For the email address, your password is asked first, then a code arrives at the new address.
PartingWhat happens if we part?
Nothing is destroyed. Each of you leaves with what was private, and the shared life stays in the couple you both left. We keep it for one year, in case you come back, and if you do, we ask you first: pick your story up where it stopped, or start a fresh one. After a year without you, it is erased for good.
SubscriptionHow does the subscription work?
Each of you pays their own share. One share lifts your own limits, two shares together lift the couple limits. A share follows the person, not the couple: it survives a break up and comes with you to the next one. One of you can also pay for both at once, which is the only way if you share a single Apple Account. And if a subscription ends, nothing is ever deleted. We simply stop taking more.
DeletingHow do I delete my account?
Settings, then “Delete my account”. Deletion is immediate and final, photos included. If you were paired, the couple you shared is destroyed with it, and your other half leaves with what was theirs alone, so it is worth telling them before you do it.
