♥ Your data, your choice

Deleting your Pomia account

You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, from the app, at any time. Here is exactly how, what disappears, and what does not.

In short

In Pomia, open the menu at the top right of Home, then “Settings”, then “Delete my account”, and confirm. Your account and your data are erased at once and for good. This does not cancel a subscription: cancel it first in the App Store or Google Play.

From the app

  1. On Home, tap the menu at the top right, then “Settings”.
  2. Scroll down to “My account” and tap “Delete my account”.
  3. A window titled “Delete your account?” says what will be erased. Tap “Delete” to confirm, or “Keep” to change your mind.

The deletion happens at once, and the app signs you out: your account no longer exists.

What is erased at once

  • Your account: email address, first name, password, and phone number if you added one.
  • Your profile, your character, and the addresses used to send you notifications.
  • Your last shared location.
  • Everything you created, photos included: memories, plans, dates, reviews, moods, words of the day, goals, time capsules, games and the objects of your little world.

If you are paired

Your other half is sent a notification saying that you deleted your account. What they had kept private goes with them, untouched. Everything you shared as a couple is erased, whoever wrote it, photos included, and neither of you can get it back. It is worth telling your other half before you do it.

Couples you had already left, kept for a year in case you both came back, are erased too, within minutes.

What is not erased

  • Your subscription. Deleting your account cancels nothing at Apple or Google, and a subscription keeps renewing until it is cancelled. Cancel it first, in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
  • The record of a payment. Apple or Google keeps it in your purchase history, as for any app, and so does RevenueCat, which checks purchases for us. On our side, a line keeps which plan was active and until when. RevenueCat’s record and ours are filed under random identifiers which, once your account is gone, no longer lead to your name or your email.
  • Usage counts already recorded. The names of actions, never your content, tied only to your account identifier, which no longer leads to anyone.
  • What you saved on your phone. A photo downloaded to your gallery, for instance, stays there.

Deleting only part of your data

Memories, plans, dates and goals can each be deleted on their own in the app. Turning off “Share my location” in Settings erases your last position at once. For anything else, write to us.

Without the app

No longer have the app, or cannot sign in? Write to contact@pomia.app from the email address of your account and ask us to delete it: that address is how we know the request really comes from you. We delete the account and everything listed above within one month at most, and confirm it to you by email.
